Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 6 croissants croissants day-old if possible
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup cheese shredded, any type
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Gravy Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon Butter
  • ¼ cup Flour
  • 2 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Tear the croissants into pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the croissants.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Cooking

  • Bake the casserole for 45 minutes until golden and set.
  • While casserole is baking, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually add chicken broth and milk, whisking until smooth and thickened.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve the casserole warm, topped with the gravy.
