  • 2-3 cloves Garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional for heat optional
  • 2 tablespoons Capers in brine
  • 1 unit Lemon juice and zest
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Herbs like Parsley or Thyme optional
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese optional
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or vegan alternative

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta cooking water.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Add lemon zest and juice, capers, and reserved pasta water, simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
  • Drain pasta and combine with the sauce in the skillet, toss to coat. Add fresh herbs if desired.
  • Serve with grated Parmesan and a drizzle of olive oil on top.
