Ingredients
  

Tea Preparation

  • 6 tablespoon Kashmiri Tea Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 0.25-0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 5-6 Cardamom Pods
  • 1 Badiyan ka Phool Optional
  • 1 small piece Cinnamon Stick Optional
  • 2 cups Ice Cold Water Mix with ice
  • Finely Chopped Pistachios & Almonds For garnishing

For Each Serving

  • 0.67 cup Milk Per serving
  • Additional Minced Nuts For serving

Preparation Steps

  • Add all the ingredients except the ice cold water to a pot with 8 cups of cold tap water.
  • Bring to a boil, simmer for one hour or until the liquid is halved.
  • Sieve the green tea leaves out.
  • Pour the ice cold water from a height into the tea concentrate.
  • Aerate the tea by pouring back and forth from bowl to bowl for 5-8 minutes until it turns pink.
  • Bring the tea mix back to a boil.
  • For each cup, take a ladle of the kahwa, boil it, add milk and a splash of water, cook for 2-3 minutes, and serve topped with crushed pistachios.

Notes

This recipe makes a generous amount of kahwa. Adjust quantities as needed. For first-timers, reading the full blog post is recommended.
