Ingredients
  

  • 3 pieces day-old croissants halved
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ pieces lemon zest of, optional
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar or vanilla sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, milk, salt, lemon zest, and cinnamon.
  • Dip each croissant half into the egg mixture, coating well.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully fry croissant halves until golden brown on each side.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Dust with powdered sugar or vanilla sugar and serve warm.

Best served warm for optimal flavor.
