Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup milk

Preparation Steps

  • Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • Beat egg & milk together.
  • Add liquid to dry ingredients and mix just until moistened.
  • Drop dumplings onto the top of your hot, simmering soup one large tablespoon at a time. Don't worry if they look small. They will puff up!
  • Make sure the soup is turned down to a low simmer and put the lid on.
  • Check back in about 20 minutes and they should be puffed up and cooked through.
